In September of 1989 I was enjoying a cup of tea with Amway co-founder Rich DeVos, in his office. At one point Mr. DeVos’ compassion and words were profound when he said, “Julie, there comes a time when you have to put to practice the tools that you have been given and trust God to do the rest. When you do this, you will begin to see changes in your life.” Although I fully agreed, my head was saying, “But if you only knew all that I have been through….”—I was striving to please God, while at the same time feeling powerless and empty—and my heart was saying, “Surely there must be more to the Christian life than what I am experiencing.”

Exactly one year later, to the date, I had an encounter with God that changed the entire course of my life. I received revelation through the teaching of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland that faith has a voice. It was in that meeting that I heard the names of Oral Roberts, Dotie Osteen, Kenneth Hagin, and Rhema Bible Training Center for the first time. Miracle after miracle began to happen and my life was transformed. In 1993 my body was healed of ovarian cancer, and my debts were cancelled when I began to speak faith-filled words according to Proverbs 4:20, Romans 12:2, and Mark 11:22-26. I am living proof that the Word works!

I began to understand the words Rich DeVos had spoken into my life—not Julie’s plan, but God’s plan! His plan for one’s life brings a bright future. This was then confirmed to me when I attended Bishop Keith Butler's church on Valentines Day 1993. Pastor Kenneth and Lynette Hagin were guest speakers. It was in that meeting I knew for the first time I had a purpose. Through it all, I had no other desire but to answer God’s call. My destiny: Full-time ministry.

I left my career in telecommunications in 1994 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. As I sat daily in prayer school at Rhema for two years my life was forever changed. During that time the prayer school minister, Jim Hockaday, had us pray continually for creative ideas for the end-time harvest.

From July of 1996 to 1998 I was employed by the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I ministered in the Abundant Life Prayer Group as a telephone prayer partner in the Prayer Tower for one year, and then promoted to prayer partner trainer. Every day I would take new prayer partners through the “Journey into Faith” experience in the Prayer Tower where I would see Oral Roberts standing in that field where the Lord spoke to Him about building a university. Then I would have them watch the film “ORU Perspectives.” At the end of the film President Roberts would say, “Dare to Dream, Dare to Develop, Dare to Deliver.” God is no respecter of persons. I wrote in my prayer journal on January 1, 1997, “A God idea! Who we are in Christ has to be in the shower!” After that time I never gave it another thought.

In January 2000 I returned to Ada, Michigan to establish Most High Barn Inc., a prayer and healing home that sits on 17 acres. I pray and minister to those who are sick, and provide a getaway for Christian women in business and ministry who need a refreshing of their spirit, soul, and body. My six miniature horses—Miracle, Faith, Joy, Love, Hope and Mercy—are my evangelistic partners to the community around us.

In March of 2001 while in prayer one evening with a business couple, the Lord brought the cling idea back to my remembrance. I found myself communicating this idea with them and it was birthed from there. The next day the Lord gave us the name of the new business—Rhemarx, a combination of ‘Rhema’ and ‘rx.’ Rhema is the spoken Word of God, and ‘rx’ is the symbol for a prescription. The slogan came up out of my spirit, based on Proverbs 4:20: “The language of faith and prescription to life and health.” A year later, by faith, Rhemarx was established as the name of my business and I did my first test market in Plano, Texas. In only two days the clings grossed $3,200 in sales.

The greatest blessing of all is that in January of 2003 a professional design and distribution company, Creative Industries, in Allendale, Michigan offered to design, manufacture and fulfill the product for us. So now I am able to pursue my call to prayer at Most High Barn. The purpose of the clings is best summed up in the words of the Creative Industries CEO, “If one body is healed or a single marriage restored by clinging to their confession in the shower … mission accomplished.”

It’s been five years since the launch of this product and they are now in some the largest faith based churches and ministries known around the country. Not to mention, Amway Global, Independent Business Owners are my greatest customers!
